Hi Athlete Ally!
We’re coming to the end of the winter season, and spring sports are beginning!
Men's Basketball was selected for the NCAA tournament and has their first-round game tonight. So far this season, rep Theo Liu has a FG percentage of .462 including going 100% on threes. James Morakis had five steals against Middlebury on February 17th.
Congrats to Women's Basketball on their season! Rep Sofia Gonzalez scored 239 points in total, and rep Mikayla Paquette had an impressive free throw percentage of .769.
Women's Fencing came 3rd at New England Championships with rep Ayelet Book winning four of her five matches.
Men's Squash were runners up at the NESCAC tournament but still have matches coming up at the National Championships. Good luck to rep Rohan Bhatia!
Women's Squash had big wins at the NESCAC tournament coming 2nd overall. Rep Chloe Bergam took a win over Bates in straight sets.
Men's Swim and Dive got 2nd at the NESCAC championships! Rep Emmett Adams came 3rd in the 50 breast going 24.99. He also qualified for NCAAs in the 100 breast, 200 medley, and 400 medley. Rep Dan Godino placed seventh, and second for Tufts, in both the 1000 and 1650 free. Rep Jack Nussbaum came 3rd in the 200 breast setting a new school record of 1:59.72 and qualifying for NCAAs. Jack Madden went 49.03 in the 100 back, placing third.
Women's Swim and Dive came 2nd at NESCACs! Rep Lara Wujciak was 2nd in her 50 fly final with a time of 25.82, and Abigail Miller won her 50 breast final with a time of 30.18.
Tufts Ski Team placed 3rd in their division at regionals. Congrats to rep Ben Sagerian for his season!
Men's Ice Hockey and rep Alex Rossides took a 5-3 win in the first round of the NESCAC Championship. They play Hamilton this Saturday.
Women's Track and Field rep Ayala Mehrota ran a season best time of 31.94 in the 200m at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. Good luck to her and pole vaulter Amelie Wickham as they finish off their indoor season and transition to outdoors.
Men's Track and Field came 2nd at the New England DIII Championships. Congrats to rep Milo Goode!
There are a few events in the works for this month with dates TBD, so keep an eye out for those in the coming weeks!
